I had a spare hard drive but only a 300 GB's in size. I took it out and tried to either access and or fix it by hooking it up to my computer, through a USB adapter. But then I discovered the hard drive was crap.
I assumed a damaged power supply and luckily I had a replacement. Tried it out again but the system kept shutting down. It had only 1 GB (2 500 MB chips) memory, so I replaced it with two 1 GB chips, the maximum this system can handle apparently. Decided to put some new thermal paste on the CPU. I cleaned out all the dust assuming it just might be overheating. It tried to load what looked like Windows 10 and it couldn't. I hooked it up to see if it was even working.
My neighbor threw away her old desktop which I decided to salvage, for parts if nothing else. Setting Foxit Reader As Default Windows 10
